Purchase of locally grown food supports area farmers and builds our local economy by keeping our spending dollars close to home. Small farms can grow food and raise animals without the overuse of chemicals and antibiotics that pollute our environment. Since local food is not shipped from far away, it has a much smaller carbon footprint. Plus, all this super fresh and healthy food simply tastes better. Talk about a win-win-win!
Visit our neighborhood Farm Market this Thursday from 3:00 – 6:30 pm. The farmers are still going strong with lovely fall greens, garlic, beets, potatoes, radishes, leeks, squash, and so much more. You will even find the last of summer’s tomatoes, bell peppers, green beans and zucchini. Mingle with neighbors, and get to know the people who put the food on your table. Corner of Hamilton and Llanfair in the parking lot of the College Hill Presbyterian Church.
EBT and credit cards accepted. If you are an EBT customer, ask about the produce perks program which can double your buying power.
