Labor Day is coming up on Monday so be sure to stock up on everything you need to celebrate. Check out some great recipes using sweet corn below. Seeders and Feeders, North Oaks Farm, and Back Acres Farm bring you all the fresh fruits and vegetables of the season along with canned goods like jams and vegetables. Don’t forget that you can pick up meat and eggs from Back Acres Farm!
Shadeau brings bread and pastries as well as other local treats, like Mt. Healthy Honey, flowers, and apples. If you want to take advantage of the bounty of apples at this time of year look over here for some ideas. Like Mom’s Only Vegan continues to join the market every week with their vegan cookies as does Aunt Flora’s with their buttery cobblers, coffees, sauces, and other treats.
Sunflower Performs
Sunflower will be back at the market this week to share her beautiful native flute music. She will perform starting between 3:00 and 3:30.
Product Spotlight: Corn
It’s hard to beat sweet corn on the cob, but if you want to try something a little different check out the recipes below for spicy corn fritters with a dipping sauce and succotash with bacon and optional croutons. Corn contains a range of beneficial antioxidant phytonutrients.

The outdoor College Hill Farm Market is open every Thursday from 3:00 to 6:30pm in the parking lot of the College Hill Presbyterian Church, 5742 Hamilton Ave from May 18th to October 12th. Most weeks feature music from 5-6:30 and some weeks feature kids’ activities.
The College Hill Farm Market accepts credit cards, EBT/SNAP, and WIC FMNP coupons. Those using EBT will receive up to $10 in matching Produce Perks tokens to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from participating markets. Stop by the market table for more information.
